Established in 1969, Work Opportunity Center, Inc. (WOC, Inc.) is a private, non-profit organization headquartered in Westfield, Massachusetts. With various sites throughout Western MA, WOC, Inc. provides training, employment opportunities, and Community Based Day Services to individuals with physical and/or developmental disabilities.

Work Opportunity Center, Inc. Receives $19,500 Grant from Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts

WESTFIELD, MA — Work Opportunity Center, Inc. (WOC) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $19,500 grant from the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts. The funding will provide general operating support for the organization as it continues its mission to serve individuals with developmental disabilities in an inclusive, respectful, and welcoming environment. The grant funding may be utilized through March 31, 2027, giving WOC the flexibility to invest in programs and initiatives that strengthen services and support organizational growth.


One potential use for the grant is to help support WOC's expansion into the Holyoke area. If a new site is established, the funding will assist with extending services to individuals in that community, allowing more adults with intellectual and physical disabilities to access employment training, skill development, and opportunities for greater independence.


Through its employment-focused programs, Work Opportunity Center empowers adults with disabilities by providing training, support, and opportunities that foster personal growth, workplace success, and community inclusion.


The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts supports nonprofit organizations throughout the region by investing in programs and services that improve the quality of life for local residents. Work Opportunity Center, Inc. Receives Technology Grant through Alliance for Digital Equity and Baystate Health

WESTFIELD, MA — Work Opportunity Center, Inc. (WOC) is pleased to announce it has received funding through the Alliance for Digital Equity, in partnership with Baystate Health Systems, to strengthen the organization's technology infrastructure and support future growth.


The grant will enable WOC to purchase critical network upgrades, including new wireless access points, network switches, and firewall renewals. These enhancements will improve connectivity, security, reliability, and overall technology performance across the organization, helping staff and program participants access the tools and resources they need to succeed.


In addition to supporting current operations, the grant also includes approval for hardware that will be utilized as part of WOC's future expansion plans. As the organization continues exploring opportunities to establish a new location, this investment will help ensure that the necessary technological infrastructure is in place to support services at the new site.

    Work Opportunity Center, Inc. (WOC, Inc.) provides round-trip transportation from home to our facility for individuals receiving services from the Department of Developmental Services.

  • Who is eligible to receive services from WOC?

    You will need a referral from the Department of Developmental Services or a school system. We can help you with the process

  • Do I have to participate in all services offered?

    No! We will work with you to develop a plan that works best for your current situation. Your services are tailored to your individual needs and preferences

  • Are there any age or location requirements?

    You must be 22 years of age or older (there is an exception for students turning 22). You will need to live in the greater Springfield area.

  • What are the advantages of coming to WOC?

    We have three CBDS program sites to service individuals in their home communities. We have a strong track record of providing employment and employment services to our participants. Current WOC, Inc. employees have over 200 years of supporting individuals with disabilities. WOC, Inc. also has a history of working with people of diverse cultural backgrounds. We have bi-lingual staff and staff proficient in American Sign Language to ensure that the needs of individuals and their families are met.
